Frequent Asked Questions

What kinds of people attend the Camps?

Rialto Wellness Boot Camps are designed for people of all fitness levels.  You don’t have to be “in shape” to start.  Rather we welcome all shapes and sizes!  Some participants may be active exercisers, while others may be ready to integrate exercise into their lifestyle.  Wherever you are at, our instructors will meet you on your journey and guide you to a better quality of life.

Can I make up a class session?

Once you’ve registered as a Rialto Wellness Boot Camp participant, you should attend all of the scheduled classes per week.  You can participate at the other locations during the 4-5 weeks of training if you need to make up for your busy lifestyle. (Example: Your parent location is Cherry Creek/Lowry at 0600 AM, M/W/F. However, you’re out of town Wednesday to Friday. You can attend another location and/or time to make up for your busy lifestyle). We DARE you to get your money’s worth!

What is the Pre-Camp Evaluation?

The Pre-Camp Evaluation includes the following:

1.  Completing our registration form online. This allows us to obtain your current and previous exercise history, if any, and understand your objectives for the Boot Camp.  In addition, we will also have an opportunity to review your medical history before participation.

2.  We will give you an introduction to the Camp and answer any questions or concerns you may have.

3.  We may acquire some simple body measurements and administer a few basic fitness tests to see where you are at the beginning of Camp.  The actual measurements (number of inches) don't matter.  Our goal is to distinguish how much you improve during the Camp.  These numbers will be used for a post-camp comparison and will be held in the strictest confidence.

4. You will receive your Welcome Packet and Boot Camp T-shirt.

5. See you at camp!

What do I need to bring to Camp?

We advise you to bring a water bottle (minimum 20 oz.), as it is crucial to stay hydrated.  Please dress in loose, layered clothing with a comfortable pair of running shoes.  Even if it is chilly, you will get warm fast!  Speaking of warm, don’t forget your sunscreen.  Optional items are a hand towel to dry off with and gloves or mittens in the winter.  Lastly, don’t forget to pack your enthusiastic attitude!

Should I eat and/or drink anything before Camp?

We strongly suggest you put some nutrients in your body beforehand at least 30 minutes prior to class. Some recommendations are a cup of yogurt, a banana, an energy bar, a bagel, a cup of oatmeal or small box of raisins.  Also, make sure to consume 16-20 oz. of water prior to exercise.

How soon will I see results?

Individual performance results and short term benefits such as improved exercised outcomes, a sense of accomplishment, stress reduction and better sleep can be felt almost immediately.  Long-term outcomes such as better health, reduction in cardiovascular risk and weight loss can take 2-4 weeks depending on your effort level.  It's becoming common to see a camper go down 1-2 lbs within the first week of Camp.  Remember, each camper is different so focus on how YOU can improve!

Will I be sore?

Most people will feel some soreness.  This can occur immediately following the workout or up to 2-3 days afterward.  However, don’t be alarmed!  This is a natural part of the process that lets your body know you’re improving!

What if I can’t perform a certain exercise?

That’s ok!  We are more concerned with your EFFORT.  We expect the very best you can give us and will challenge your mind and body to new levels.  If necessary, we will modify the exercise so your body will strengthen and condition its weak area.

Will you yell at us?  I’m scared!

Absolutely!  However it will only be optimistic remarks, encouraging comments and positive affirmations.  We convince, not confront.  Abuse, harassment and negativity have no place in our Camp, even if that motivates you.  If you want verbal abuse, Rialto Wellness Boot Camps are not your place.

What about the weather?  And a holiday?

During inclement weather – too hot, too cold, raining, etc. – we will reschedule activities indoors or to the next day unless otherwise notified.  We will notify you via email, as well as provide a phone number you can call to verify if Camp has be canceled and rescheduled.  In the event of a holiday, Camp will be rescheduled for the next day.

Will there be an issue with parking?

No.  Most, if not all, of the Camp locations have free parking.

Is there a refund policy?

If you are unable to attend Camp due to circumstances out of your control, we can offer you a refund if you notify us one week prior to your session start date.  However, we will charge a $50.00 cancellation fee.  If we are notified after your session begins, we can only give you a credit towards another Camp.  This credit is nontransferable.  There is no cash refund. This is not negotiable.

What will I do after Camp is over?

Once the Camp concludes, you should be well on your way to a healthy, active lifestyle!  You can get re-measured and tested to show your progress and success in the program.  Many (up to 80%) of the campers return for a future Camp.  See you next time!!
